Feel Better Now
Here are 10 things you can do to feel better immediately.
Breathe - deeply, through your nose, and without tension in your neck, shoulders, chest, or stomach. Do this as many times a day as you think about it.
Sit - quietly and uninterrupted for at least 5 minutes a day, every day.
(This is also a great time to breathe!)
Move - more than you normally do in a typical day, at least 3 times a week. Go for a brisk walk, lift some small weights, dance, or do an exercise class. Just move!
Read - or do a brain puzzle every week. Your brain needs exercise too!
Stop - drinking sugar! Even artificial sweeteners.
Drink - water! All day, every day.
Volunteer - for anything. Being present for others is the greatest gift.
Go - on vacation. This could be anything that takes you out of your daily routine. Even if it is just to take a mental health day off.
Be - in nature. Go sit in the park, by a lake, or even just in your back yard. Feel the breeze on your face, smell the flowers, or just watch the bugs in the grass.
Art! Any art! There is no such thing as bad art!
And as Bob Ross taught us, “We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents.”
